University or Organization: University of Nevada, Las Vegas Department: Foreign Languages Job Rank: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: General Linguistics; CALL/ Technology-Enhanced Language Learning Required Language(s): Spanish (spa) Description: The Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track assistant professorship in Spanish with a specialty in Linguistics to begin August 2006. Ph. D. required in Spanish or Linguistics from an accredited college or university. The successful candidate will have native or near native fluency in Spanish and English as well as the ability to teach CALL or Technology Enhanced Language Learning at the graduate level. The appointee will teach Spanish linguistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as other courses based on departmental need. Applicants must have evidence of an active scholarly agenda, a documented record of teaching excellence, and a strong commitment to service on the department, college, and university levels.
