University or Organization: Johns Hopkins University Department: School of Advanced International Studies Job Rank: Lecturer Specialty Areas: Applied Linguistics; Language Teaching Required Language(s): English (eng) Description: The School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University, located in Washington D.C., invites applications for ESL Language Program Coordinator for 2006-2008. This is a full-time two-year appointment with possibility of renewal. Duties include teaching ESL language courses, syllabus design, and supervision of ESL language instructors. The ideal candidate will have: (a) a master's degree in ESL, Applied Linguistics, or Education (ADB or PhD preferred) (b) strong teaching experience in ESL, (c) interest in content-based instruction (topics in International Development & Politics), (d) experience in curriculum and language teaching materials development, (e) knowledge of current language teaching methodology, (f) expertise in the use of technology-mediated instruction, (g) native language proficiency in English.
