University or Organization: Haverford College Department: Spanish Job Rank: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: Sociolinguistics; Second Language Acquisition Required Language(s): Spanish (spa) Description: Haverford College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in the Spanish Department at the Assistant Professor level in the field of second-language acquisition, with strong research interests in sociolinguistics and teaching with technology. We especially welcome applicants whose interests include the pedagogical needs of heritage speakers. Areas of interest include Spanish Linguistics; History of the Spanish Language; Sociolinguistics of the Spanish-speaking World; Language, Culture and Society in the Spanish-speaking World. The incumbent would provide leadership and guidance in the design and contents of the language courses, including the training and supervision of student assistants. Applicants should send the following: (1) a cover letter; (2) a CV; (3) a statement of teaching philosophy, experience, and effectiveness; (4) a sample of recent papers, and: (5) three recent letters of recommendation.
