Description:

Basis Technology has an opening for an Arabic linguist. This is a paid contract
position, 10-20 hrs/week, and can be done remotely.

Candidates must have:
- Native proficiency in Arabic
- Good English language skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Coursework in Linguistics is desirable but not required
- Arabic translation experience is desirable but not required
- Experience as a QA Engineer is desirable but not required
- US citizenship is desirable but not required

Tasks would include:
- Collecting Arabic data from the web
- Annotating lists of Arabic names
- Testing transliteration software
