University or Organization: Cyprus College Department: Humanities Job Rank: Full Professor Specialty Areas: General Linguistics, Theoretical Linguistics Required Language(s): English (eng) Description: Cyprus College (Nicosia, Cyprus) invites applications for a position as Full Professor of Linguistics in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, to begin 1st October 2006, pending final approval. Applicants should be PhD holders of at least Associate Professor, or equivalent, standing and should possess a solid record of research and publications, as well as extensive experience teaching Linguistics for a number of years. She or he will be expected to teach English Linguistics and perform administrative duties in English, hence (near-)native fluency in the language is necessary. Although the area of specialization is open within the field of Theoretical Linguistics, preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests complement the Department's existing strengths. Moreover, due to the immigration law of the Cyprus Republic, an EU country as of 2004, precedence must be given to applications by EU citizens or by candidates with an EU work permit.
