University or Organization: University of Potsdam Department: Linguistics Job Rank: Guest Researcher Specialty Areas: Semantics; Information Structure Description: The SFB 632 on Information Structure of the University of Potsdam and Humboldt University in Berlin is seeking to fill a position of a Guest Researcher for Semantics for a period of one year (May 2006-April 2007) in Potsdam. Salary will be equivalent to a German W2 professorship. Applicants must have a PhD and are expected to have a record of excellent publications. Knowledge in formal semantics is required. Willingness to participate to a joint large project with the theme 'information structure' is a prerequisite. In this framework, it is expected that candidates bring competence in the field of discourse and text. The position involves no teaching requirement (though an advanced class will be welcome). The guest researcher is expected to cooperate with the members of the staff in different research projects, and to lead their own research. At least one prominent publication is expected to be the outcome of the one-year position.
