University or Organization: University of North Texas Department: English Job Rank: Chair of Department Specialty Areas: No specialty required Description: The University of North Texas seeks a Chair for the Department of English, beginning in fall 2006. Ph.D. is required. Area of teaching and specialization open. Candidates must possess a distinguished record of teaching and research. Significant administrative experience is required. Experience in fund raising is desirable. Candidates must hold the rank of associate or full professor. With approximately 1100 undergraduate and graduate majors, the department offers undergraduate and/or graduate programs in literature, composition and rhetoric, technical writing, creative writing, linguistics, and ESL. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to all these areas. Send letter of application, current CV, copies of official transcripts, five letters of reference, and a brief statement of how you would view your role as chair to the address below.
