University or Organization: Harvard University Institute of English Language Department: Institute of English Language Program Job Rank: Preceptor Specialty Areas: Applied Linguistics; TESOL, Academic English Required Language(s): English (eng) Description: The Institute for English Language Programs (IEL), which offers student-centered, content-based academic programs for international students and area residents at five levels of proficiency in daytime and evening classes in Harvard Extension School, in addition to intensive and part- time programs in Harvard Summer School, invites applications for several Preceptorships as well as full- and part-time Summer School instructorships. Preceptorships are granted for three years with the possibility of renewal for another three years, and involve full-time teaching in the Extension and Summer Schools. Successful candidates will have an MA -- PhD preferred -- in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field; significant experience with academic, content-based instruction; the ability to engage in team-teaching and to further IEL's rigorous programmatic goals. All positions will begin on June 22, 2006. Salaries: Preceptorships -- low-to mid-50Ks; Summer School Full-time ca.10K; Part-time ca. 4K.
