Subject: New Language and Speech Processing Program at UIUC
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is pleased to announce a new Certificate of Advanced Study in Language and Speech Processing. LSP is a multidisciplinary program for doctoral students with an interest in speech and language processing technology. It is open to students who are pursuing a Ph.D. in the Departments of Linguistics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Library and Information Sciences. By participating in the program, students would earn a Certificate of Advanced Study in Language and Speech Processing, in addition to the Ph.D. that they will earn in their home department. Under the program, students will take courses from a specified list, and work with a program-affiliated faculty member; faculty members affiliated with the program have appointments in one or more of the following departments: Linguistics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Library and Information Sciences. For further information see the web page at: http://lsp.lang.uiuc.edu/ Linguistic Field(s): Computational Linguistics
