VoiceSignal is the technology and market share leader of embedded speech

privately held company based in Woburn, Massachusetts. We have a team-oriented,
fast-paced rapid growth environment with opportunities to contribute personally

We are searching for a uniquely talented individual to join our Core Technology
team developing speech products in many languages for use in mobile devices. As
a Language Developer for text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis you should thrive in a
multicultural environment, collaborating with native speakers of a wide variety
of European & Asian languages. You should enjoy creatively solving problems,
sharing your ideas and putting them into practice.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Coaching and recording speakers from a wide variety of world languages
- Managing and verifying audio data.
- Working closely with talented team of speech researchers to derive detailed
analysis of collected audio data.
- Working closely with language specialists and our in-house team of linguists
to evaluate aspects of word pronunciation.
- Coordinating assessment of TTS systems.
Requirements:
- Enthusiasm and appreciation of languages.
- Understanding of audio specs and a good ear for detail.
- Working knowledge of computer scripting languages such as Perl.
- Solid computer skills - experience with Unix environment preferred.
- BA in a technical field (such as computer science) with strong background in
human languages or BA in human languages, with a strong background in computers
is required.
- Fluency in at least 2 languages is a distinct advantage.
- 3 plus years experience in a development environment.
