Applause for Ronald Sheen! The field is scandalously short of data. When are
we going to furnish hard data about what our methods produce? For example, we
hear all the time that there is nothing we can do about improving pronunciation
of L2. But there is a growing body of *experimental data* that perception and
production in L2 can be improved by training programs. What is the evidence
that would say we can't do it?
