We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

Does anyone on the list work with Soqotri (Ethnologue: SQT)? I am posting
for a colleague who would like to get in touch with linguists working on
this language.
I have heard that potentially the following are working on the language:
Dr Bawasire
Dr Vitaly Naukin from Russia
Dr. Yosof Abdullah
If anyone has specifics on them, I would like to hear from them.
Thanks, Doug Whalen DhW

Hi, I am Mandy, a graduate student from Taiwan. I am now conducting my
thesis, so I need some female American English native speakers to do some
recording. The task is to read 27 sentences in English, and it takes about
one minute. My thesis title is : Interlanguage Production of Stop
Consonants: A VOT Analysis. If anyone can help, please contact me by email.
