Second Call for Papers

SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
Mediterranean Syntax Meeting (June 23-25, 2005)
Pre-conference Workshop: ''Interfaces''
June 23, 2005
University of the Aegean
Department of Mediterranean Studies
Division of Linguistics

INVITED SPEAKERS
Angelika Kratzer (University of Massachusetts, Amherst)
Elisabeth Selkirk (University of Massachusetts, Amherst)
Juan Uriagereka (University of Maryland)

Papers are invited on the interfaces between syntax and the phonological and
interpretative components. We encourage papers that address empirical and
conceptual issues regarding the representational effects of the derivational
dynamics of the computational system upon the interfaces. We are particularly
interested in exchanging ideas about the interaction of the syntactic
derivation with the other modules and its implications for the architecture of
grammar (i.e. how interfaces access and process syntactic information, whether
interface representations provide cues for syntactic structure, and so on).

Abstracts are invited for 30-minute presentations plus 10 minutes for
questions. Submissions are limited to one singly authored and one jointly
authored abstract per author or two jointly authored abstracts.

ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION: Abstracts should be electronically submitted as
PDF/DOC/RTF attachments to spiropoulosrhodes.aegean.gr. Special symbols
should also be included in the attachment. The filename should be unique. You
