Subject: Recherches Linguistiques de Vincennes
Full Title: Recherches Linguistiques de Vincennes
Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics
Call Deadline: 31-Jul-2006
Recherches Linguistiques de Vincennes (RLV) is looking for contributors for its vol. 36, to appear in 2007, entitled: "The inductive turn in the language sciences" The deadline for abstracts is July 31st, 2006. After acceptance by the Publications committee, final submissions should be sent before December 31st, 2006. The last ten years have seen an increasing interest on largely inductive approaches to the data throughout the domains of linguistics: laboratory phonology, output-based models such as Optimality theory, computational semantics, and, more generally, typology and corpus linguistics. The forthcoming volume of RLV should provide a representative sample of such approaches, help define the outlines of what constitutes a general trend in research rather than a specific theoretical framework, and propose a critical assessment of their contribution to contemporary linguistics. Please send a 2-page abstract of your paper to the editors: Brenda Laca: brenda.laca linguist.jussieu.fr Joaquim Brandão de Carvalho: jbrandao ext.jussieu.fr RLV is published once a year by the Presses Universitaires de Vincennes (Université de Paris 8, France), and appears both in print and as an online journal (after a two-year delay). The languages of publication are English and French. The main aim of RLV is to publish original articles of highest quality and significance from authors of all nationalities and theoretical persuasions within the domains of formal linguistics, including, but not limited to, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Every manuscript is reviewed by at least two anonymous referees.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as such can
receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered 501(c) Non Profit
organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These donations can be offset against
your federal and sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more
information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match any gift
you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your contacting your human
resources department and sending us a form that the EMU Foundation fills in and returns
to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative procedure that doubles the
value of your gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment
to check if your company operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
