University or Organization: University of Fribourg, Suisse Department: CERLE Job Rank: Lecturer/Head of English as a Foreign Language Specialty Areas: TESOL/Applied Linguistics Required Language(s): English (eng) Description: The Centre d'Enseignement et de Recherches en Langues Etrangéres (CERLE) of the Bilingual University of Fribourg-Freiburg, Switzerland, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a new post as Lecturer in English as a Foreign Language and Head of the EFL Unit. This is a full-time appointment divided between teaching, research and administration as follows: 55% teaching, 25% research, 20% administration. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research record and proven team-leading skills who can provide academic and research leadership. The postholder will teach English language courses, including EAP and General English and also assist in the education of future English language teachers. Applicants should hold a doctorate, preferably in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or a related area and have substantial teaching experience including tertiary education. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in either French or German and have at least a receptive knowledge of the other language. The successful applicant is expected to commence work in September 2006.
