Position: Linguistic Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Boston, MA or Sunnyvale, CA

The candidate will be part of a team developing state-of-the-art
natural-language applications, including Inxight LinguistX® - the fastest,
most comprehensive multilingual text analysis and information retrieval
solution available - and Inxight ThingFinder?, a powerful entity and fact
extraction application that enables customers to navigate huge volumes of
unstructured text. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for
linguistic quality assurance in multiple languages by creating, maintaining
and augmenting machine-readable corpora, defining comprehensive linguistic
test suites, running tests and evaluating output to come up with
recommendations for quality enhancements. He/she will be involved in the
automation of linguistic testing and the alignment of our quality strategy
with relevant third-party standards.

Skills Required/Responsibilities:
Minimum of B.A. in Linguistics or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in
the NLP industry, or M.A. in Linguistics or equivalent
Native or near-native knowledge of a major Asian language (Chinese,
Japanese or Korean), Arabic or Farsi
Fluency in English
Ability to abstract linguistic phenomena across multiple languages
Strong background in syntax and morphology
Proficiency in at least one data manipulation language (Perl preferred) or
solid understanding of regular expressions
Strict adherence to formal, documented development processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills/Pluses:
Knowledge of shell scripting
Experience in corpus analysis and statistical accuracy measurements
Experience with developing or testing modules for human languages other
than immediate area of expertise
Full understanding of the software development life cycle
