ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Velammal Engineering College was founded by Shri.M.V.Muthuramalingam, the
procreator of Velammal Educational Trust. This College is one among the Top five
Engineering Colleges, excelling in all aspects. The college has been accredited
by the National Board of Accreditation.

DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH

The department of English focuses its attention on the needs of future engineers
by imparting Technical English, Business English & Communicative English. It
develops interactive skills among the students to face interviews and to do the
required project work. Apart from this, the department trains students for
Business English Certificate Examination (BEC) conducted by British Council and
certificates awarded by Cambridge University, London.

The Department of Foreign Languages which is a part of the Department of English
offers Japanese, French and German. At the end of the year, these students take
examinations conducted by their respective consulates.

The department is equipped with a unique state-of-the-art language laboratory.
This lab plays a vital in improving students' communicative skills.
