Introduction
Concentric: Studies in Linguistics is a refereed, international journal of
linguistics published biannually by the Department of English, National
Taiwan Normal University. First published in 1964, it has been devoted to
the dissemination of research related to linguistics and applied
linguistics and has been one of the leading journals in Taiwan. While
previous issues were published in June and December, beginning in 2006, the
journal are published in January and July. A special theme is usually
chosen for each issue, but papers on all aspects of theoretical and applied
linguistics are welcomed. The language of publication is English.

Forthcoming Issue
The forthcoming issue (Concentric 33.1) will be devoted (but not
restricted) to the theme 'Sociolinguistics'. However, papers on any aspect
of theoretical and applied linguistics are also welcome. The deadline for
manuscripts intended as special topic submissions for Concentric 33.1 is
September 30, 2006. However, manuscripts are accepted throughout the year.

Editorail Policies
Concentric: Studies in Linguistics adheres to strict reviewing policies to
ensure quality as a scholarly journal. The journal invites manuscripts
that have not been published elsewhere and/or submitted to another journal
or publisher. All submissions are acknowledged and sent for evaluation to
anonymous reviewers with expertise in the field of research focused upon in
the manuscript. The time required for the review process following
submission is 3-6 weeks.
