This morning (Saturday, July 8), NPR broadcast the first in a series about language. This program dealt with Bonobos and their linguistic communication with humans, and discussed (among other things) motivation and social interaction as key factors in their language acquisition. The story can be found at http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5503685
The next in the series will deal with people with autism and their linguistic communication.
