University or Organization: University of Oregon Department: Linguistics Job Rank: Visiting Professor Specialty Areas: Language Acquisition; Psycholinguistics; Semantics; Text/Corpus Linguistics; Experimental Linguistics Description: The Department of Linguistics at the University of Oregon is searching for a visiting professor, with a specialization in Language and Cognitive Processes, for academic year 2006-07. The initial contract will be for one year, beginning September 16, 2006 and ending June 15, 2007. The position is non-tenure track and possibly renewable for a second year. The ideal candidate will specialize in one (or more) of the following: syntax, semantics and/or pragmatics; first or second language acquisition; psycholinguistics. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in empirical methodologies for the purposes of research, teaching and advising student research, especially (but not limited to) experimental approaches or corpus linguistics. A Ph.D. awarded by September 16, 2006 is required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
