Call for Papers Concentric: Studies in Linguistics The journal 'Concentric: Studies in Linguistics' is a refereed, international journal published biannually by the Department of English, National Taiwan Normal University. While previous issues were published in June and December, beginning in 2006 the journal is published in January and July. A special theme is usually chosen for each issue, but papers on all aspects of theoretical and applied linguistics are welcomed. The language of publication is English. The forthcoming issue will be devoted (but not restricted) to the theme 'Sociolinguistics' for Concentric 33.1 and 'Language and Cognition' for Concentric 33.2, respectively. The deadline for manuscripts intended as special topic submissions for Concentric 33.1 is September 30, 2006, and that for Concentric 33.2 is March 31, 2007. However, manuscripts are accepted throughout the year. Information for Contributors Submissions Manuscripts for publication, books for review, review articles, and correspondence relating thereto should be addressed to the Editor of Concentric: Studies in Linguistics (Department of English, National Taiwan Normal University, 162 Hoping East Road, Section 1, Taipei, Taiwan, 106; concentric.ling deps.ntnu.edu.tw). Manuscripts 1. Preferably, articles should be submitted electronically, as e-mail attachments, in Word for Windows (or in its PDF version if there are special symbols included). Other formats are possible; please contact the editor first. 2. To facilitate the blind review process, authors' names and affiliations should appear only on a cover sheet, not on the title page. 3. Except for inset quotations and footnotes in single space, manuscripts must be double-spaced and typeset in 12-point Times New Roman. Papers should follow the format of the Language style sheet, and are normally limited to 30 pages in length, including a 150-word abstract and some key words. 4. The journal will not consider for publication papers being simultaneously submitted elsewhere. 5. Please indicate if your paper is on the special theme. 6. The author(s) will receive one copy of the journal, fifteen off-prints of the article, and the e-copy of the paper in its PDF version upon publication. It is the journal's policy to require assignment of copyright from all authors.
