The workshop is dedicated to central aspects of morphological change in Romance and Germanic languages. Different phenomena like the rise of articles or negation markers are discussed with respect to their impact on syntax and text. Central to the discussion is the methodological issue on the appropriate approach to diachrony and on an adequate integration of original data sources in the linguistic description.
