Applicants should have a Ph.D. in linguistics, specializing in the analysis of language variation and change, with evidence of strong research potential. The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in the research activities of the Sociolinguistics Laboratory. Preference will be given to candidates able to teach in both English and French within a specified period of time. At the time of tenure, professors are expected to have the ability to function in a bilingual setting. Applicants should submit a CV, representative samples of their research, and arrange for three (3) letters of recommendation to be sent directly to Dr. Marie-Hélène Côté. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. Equity is a University policy.
