The specific area of research within Chinese linguistics is open, but preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated interest in second language acquisition. The position responsibilities will include regular teaching in the Mandarin program, graduate courses in Chinese linguistics, generally in support of the department's program in Chinese language pedagogy, and undergraduate courses in language and culture. Candidates must have a doctoral degree or clear indication that the degree will be in hand at the time of appointment. Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2006. Letters of application, cv, transcripts, writing samples in both Chinese and English, and three letters of recommendation should be sent to the address below.
