Candidates should have a primary research and teaching interest in two of the following areas: phonology, syntax, and semantics. Additionally, preference will be given to candidates with a secondary research and teaching interest in one or more of the following areas: psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, L2 acquisition, or phonetics. The minimum requirement is a Ph.D. in Linguistics, awarded by August 1, 2007. The position requires a strong background in formal linguistics and a commitment to research and teaching. The appointee will be expected to teach courses in the core areas of linguistics and in general education, as well as participate in the ongoing development of the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs. A letter of interest, curriculum vitae, samples of work and three letters of reference should be sent to the address below. Candidates should include a list of courses they have taken as graduate students, as well as a list of courses they would like to teach. Preliminary interviews with members of the search committee will be held at the LSA meeting, January 4-7, 2007, Anaheim, CA.
