Candidates should hold a Ph.D. (or show strong promise of completion by the date of hire). Candidates interested in studying editing and publishing and language usage from a linguistic point of view will be particularly attractive. Candidates with editing and production experience will also be particularly attractive. Primary responsibilities will include (1) teaching usage and grammar classes in BYU's editing minor, (2) teaching other courses in the editing minor and other courses in English language and linguistics, including advanced courses in some area of specialization, (3) conducting and publishing research in English language or linguistics and research applicable to editing or publishing, and (4) completing other departmental or college responsibilities, such as committee service and student advising. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
