Qualified candidates should hold the degree of Ph.D. and demonstrate native or near-native fluency in spoken and written Mandarin and English. Experience in teaching Chinese at the college/university level in North America is also essential. Interest in instructional technology and heritage language teaching and experience in establishing and coordinating a Chinese language program would also be an asset. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in Chinese language and culture, participating in the graduate program in linguistics, and maintaining an active research agenda. Candidates must possess a PhD in Chinese, Second Language Acquisition, Linguistics or related field by Fall 2007.
