We are pleased to announce that the 30th Annual Second Language Research Forum (SLRF-2007)will be hosted at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). 1) Dates of the Conference: Thursday, October 11th through Sunday, October 14th, 2007. 2) Place of the Conference: Illini Union at the UIUC campus. 3) Theme of the Conference: “Second Language Acquisition and Research: Focus on Form and Function” which will highlight the interconnections and interfaces between form and function in SLA research and practices and will explore the implications of these interfaces for second language pedagogy.
First Announcement for SLRF 2007 We are pleased to announce that SLRF 2007 will be hosted next year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). 1) Dates of the Conference: Thursday, October 11th through Sunday, October 14th, 2007. 2) Place of the Conference: Illini Union at the UIUC campus. 3) Theme of the Conference: ''Second Language Acquisition and Research: Focus on Form and Function'' which will highlight the interconnections and interfaces between form and function in SLA research and practices and will explore the implications of these interfaces for second language pedagogy. 4) Papers are invited for the general session, as well as for the three colloquia and workshop listed below. The three colloquia for which papers are invited are: ''Understanding the interlanguage systems of heritage language learners'' ''The L2 acquisition of the nominal domain'' ''Interfaces between second language acquisition and language testing: Past, present, and future directions for research and theory-building''. The workshop will focus on Conversational Analysis in Second Language Acquisition and accept submissions related to this topic. All submissions must be made no later than Tuesday, May 1st 2007. All submissions will be electronic. 5) Pre-registration will be $30 for students and $50 for non-students, with on site registration being $5 more for both students and non-students. 6) Additionally, students with the best 5 student abstracts will receive support in the form of a registration fee waiver and up to $200.00 to assist with travel expenses. 7) For any questions, additional information, etc. please feel free to email us at slrf-2007 uiuc.edu.
