We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

Subject: Verbal Form Variation in Sublanguages
I would like to ask if there has been any recent work on sublanguage/genre or text type discrimination on the basis of verbal form (both finite and non-finite forms)or if there has been recent work referring to verb form distribution i.e. which are the most frequent tenses or verb forms etc. in specific special languages. I am particularly interested in the legal, commercial, computing or science special language in general. I am aware of the work by Sager Sager, J.C. Dungworth, D. and McDonald, P.F. 1980. English Special Languages. Wiebaden: Brandstetter Verlag. but I wonder if there is anything more recent on the subject, Thank you in advance.
