We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.
Date: 15-Dec-2006 From: Thomas Hoffmann <thomas.hoffmannsprachlit.uni-regensburg.de> Subject: On-line Experiment
Dear all,
I am currently trying to wrap up my PhD thesis and have decided that I need more data. That is why I'm running another on-line syntactic acceptability experiment.
I would be very grateful if you could forward this request to your students or other people who you think might be willing to participate. Here are the details:
What? Syntactic acceptability judgements
Who? Speakers of British English
Payment? Since my financial resources are limited, I decided on the following procedure:
All participants will be entered into a prize draw. Prizes are:
1st prize: 20 Pound gift certificate from Amazon.co.uk 2nd prize: 15 Pound gift certificate from Amazon.co.uk 3rd prize: 10 Pound gift certificate from Amazon.co.uk
How? Just visit the following webpage and follow the instructions:

Should the experiment not run on your computer you might need to install a newer Java version. For this, all you have to do is go to
www.java.com
and click ''download now''. [Shouldn't take more than a few seconds.]
