Description:

The Faculty of Humanities/Department of Linguistics invites applications
for the position of full professor (German W3-level) in Linguistics, with
specialization in Semantics.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and a 'Habilitation' (or equivalent
qualifications). Strong background in general linguistics required, with
demonstrated excellence in semantics and pragmatics. Language specialization open.

Successful candidates will contribute to teaching in BA, MA, state exam,
and doctoral courses offered by the department. They are expected to get
actively involved in current and subsequent collaborative research
programmes of the department (currently SFB 471 Variation and Evolution in
the Lexicon).

This is a tenured position, but according to current legislation initial
appointments are for three years and will only then become permanent. On
special conditions (such as already holding a tenured position) the initial
3-year limitation can be waived.
