Institution/Organization: University of Louisiana at Lafayette Department: Communicative Disorders Level: PhD Duties: Research,Teaching Specialty Areas: Clinical Linguistics/Speech Pathology Description: Applications are encouraged for the Applied Language and Speech Sciences PhD program in the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Competitive Assistantships are available that cover fees and provide living expenses in return for research, teaching, and administrative help within the department. We are especially keen to recruit students with a background in speech therapy or linguistics. A Masters degree is an advantage, though students with good Bachelor's degrees will also be considered. Students undertake several semesters of advanced coursework before proceeding to the dissertation. All areas of interest are encouraged, especially phonetics and phonology; bilingualism/sociolinguistics; systemic linguistics.
