Description:
Review and analyze translated foreign language source material. Assigned
broad area of translation responsibility and may delegate portions of work
to lower level personnel. Transcribe/translate advanced level graphic
and/or voice language material into modern American English in either
verbatim or gisted format. Provide quality control of transcripts and
translations of more junior linguists. Operate customer furnished
transcription equipment in accordance with operational guidelines. Draft
SIGINT reports and provide quality control of reports of more junior
personnel. Develop and implement translation methodology and quality
control procedures and standards. Prepare and present technical briefings
to customer and upper management. Share language expertise with Government
or Contractor Language and Intelligence Analysts, and other personnel as
required.
Must possess native or near native proficiency in the foreign language or
possess a 3/3 rating on the DLPT or PQE. Requires a bachelor's degree or
equivalent experience, and seven to nine years of relevant experience.
Must have minimum of 4 years of operational cryptologic linguistic
experience or native skills Principal must have minimum of 12 years of
cryptologic experience or native skills. Native linguists do not need
cryptologic linguistic experience but must have demonstrated native
linguistic documentation and experience in document exploitation,
transcription, and/or translation. Formal Education in the native language
may replace lack of cryptologic experience for native linguists.
Positions are located in Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland,
Georgia and Texas. Must be a US citizen and possess a current top secret
security clearance and/or a full life style polygraph of CI polygraph.
