University or Organization: University of the Basque Country Department: Department of Linguistics and Basque Studies Job Rank: Researcher Specialty Areas: Phonetics; Phonology Required Language(s): English (eng); Spanish (spa) Description: The Phonetics Lab at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities of the University of the Basque Country (Spain) is seeking suitable candidates that may apply for a five-year research position, within the Program "Ramón y Cajal" of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. The candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics, with a specialization in articulatory phonetics or phonology, although specialists in acoustic phonetics will also be considered. The candidates must have had a minimum of two years of post-doctoral experience by the time of appointment (July 2006), but must not have hold a Ph.D. longer than 10 years. The actual incorporation of the selected candidate may take place between October 2006 and April 2007. For the first year, the minimum salary will be 31,650 euros, with an additional stipend of 15,000 euros. Each successive year the salary will increase 4,220 euros.
