All works related to the thematic panels in which our recent conferences have been divided are welcome. This event is being organized by the young members of the Department of Modern Languages and of the Department of Hispanic and Classical Languages of the University of La Rioja. Until the moment, the following plenary speakers have already confirmed their participation: Prof. Francisco José Ruiz de Mendoza Ibáñez. University of La Rioja Prof. Claudio García Turza. University of La Rioja Prof. María Ángeles Calero. University of Lérida Prof. David Singleton. Trinity College Dublin We invite papers for 20 minutes presentations, which would be followed by 10 minutes discussions. Those participants who wish to present a paper should be non PhDs, since the aim of our association is to give novel linguists the opportunity to present their work to their peers and to share their initial experiences as researchers. Contributions will be structured according to the following subject areas: -DISCOURSE ANALYSIS -DIALECTOLOGY -SECOND LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING -PHONETICS AND PHONOLOGY -HISTORY OF THE LANGUAGE -LINGUISTIC HISTORIOGRAPHY -LEXICOGRAPHY -APPLIED LINGUISTICS -COMPUTATIONAL LINGUISTICS -DIACHRONIC LINGUISTICS -MORPHOLOGY -ONOMASTICS -PRAGMATICS -PSYCHOLINGUISTICS -SEMANTICS AND LEXICOLOGY -SYNTAX -SOCIOLINGUISTICS -TRANSLATION -PHRASEOLOGY Submission proposals should be sent electronically to the address: ajl2006 gmail.com from January 1st 2006 to April 1st 2006, by using the registration form that is available on the Association web page: www.joveneslinguistas.org All proposals will be reviewed, and notification of acceptance will be given as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE: it is not necessary to register when the paper proposal is submitted. Once participants are notified they can make the payment in order to register and send us the bank receipt. PUBLICATION At the end of their paper presentation in the Conference, authors must hand a paper copy of the last version of their work to the session chairs, together with a digital copy (in either .doc or .rtf format) for their posterior publication. For this, texts should adjust to the style norms of the journal of the Association, Interlingüística. The style norms are also available in our web page. Paper from all stages of research and all languages are welcome. 3rd International Postgraduate Linguistics Conference at Victoria University of Wellington 22nd - 23rd July, 2006 CALL FOR PAPERS First announcement of the postgraduate linguistics conference to be held at Victoria University of Wellington, 22nd - 23rd July 2006. Third time's a charm: we'd like to announce the dates of this year's postgraduate conference for students of Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Deaf Studies and Communication Studies. The conference is specifically targeted at postgraduate students and is a great opportunity to present the current state of your work and meet your peers. Papers from all research stages are welcome, including proposed research methodologies, progress reports and discussions of final results. The conference is also a chance to practice your presentation skills. Presentations should last 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Attendance at the conference is free and (scrumptious) lunch and teas are provided. Abstracts for papers should be 150-200 words and include the title of the paper, author's name, university affiliation and the author's contact address. The abstracts will be published in the conference programme. Speakers will also have a chance to publish their paper as part of the conference proceedings. The closing date for submissions is 1st June 2006.
