This is a three-day graduate-level introduction to neurolinguistics, which will be followed by a two-day workshop on neurolinguistics (see separate posting). PhD students in Norway can get credit for this course. Others may also register to attend at the website.

The electrophysiology of syntax and the architecture of language processing Th: 09.15-12.30: LIINA PYLKKÄNEN, NYU: What we know about the neural bases of semantic interpretation (an introduction to MEG as a technique, including a comparison to ERPs; then an overview of what we currently know about the neural bases of semantic interpretation, including the electrophysiology, imaging and MEG literatures) Th: 14.15-17.30: ALEC MARANTZ, MIT: The Mental Lexicon in the Decomposing Brain (evidence about the neural representation of morphology and arguments for morphological decomposition in word recognition and production, covering the aphasia and imaging literature)
