Membership invitation
It is our great pleasure to announce that membership for the newly founded
French association for cognitive linguistics is now officially open
(description of objectives below).
The annual membership fee is 20 euros (regular member) or 10 euros (student
fee) and includes a subscription to the annual journal ''CogniTextes'' as
well as free access to all the information on AFLICO's website. Membership
will start from Jan. 1, 2006.
The membership form can be downloaded from the AFLICO website at
http://aflico.asso.univ-lille3.fr (click on the ''Membership'' tab)
They are to be completed and returned, via email or surface mail, with
proper payment (money transfer or French cheque) to the address specified
on the form.

OBJECTIVES
The Association Française de Linguistique Cognitive, AFLICO for short, aims
at bringing together different researchers in France and in the world that
work in, or have a genuine interest in, Cognitive Linguistics and it
commits itself to promote linguistic study within this framework. To reach
this goal, AFLICO will:
- offer a high-standard platform of publication, in the form of its annual
bulletin CogniTextes (Editions Nanterre, Editor-in-Chief, W. Rotgé, Univ.
Paris X Nanterre), containing a (peer-reviewed) selection of papers with a
clear cognitive orientation.
- organise, at different locations in France, a bi-annual international
conference. The first one is the Gram-to-Mind conference (coinciding with
the creation of the association) held at the University of Bordeaux, 19-21
May 2005 (org. J.R. Lapaire); the second (with as major themes typology and
sign languages) is to be held at the University of Lille 3, spring 2007
(org. M. Lemmens). Smaller scale colloquia or workshops are also envisaged.
- create a website where researchers can find information about upcoming
events, colloquia, bibliographical references, or other useful information.
- try to set up partnerships and joint activities with its sister
associations in Europe (Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland,
etc.) for the organisation of colloquia, exchange and invitation of
researchers, EU funding for joint projects, etc.
AFLICO has been officially affiliated as a national branch to the
International Cognitive Linguistics Association (ICLA).

Invitation à l'adhésion
Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer que l'adhésion à la nouvelle
Association Française de Linguistique Cognitive (AFLICO) est désormais
ouverte (description des objectifs ci-dessous)
La cotisation annuelle est fixée à 20 euros (tarif normal) ou 10 euros
(tarif étudiant)
Elle comprend également l'abonnement au bulletin annuel ''CogniTextes''
ainsi que l'accès libre à toutes les informations sur le site d'AFLICO.
L'adhésion sera ouverte à partir du 1er janvier 2006.
Le formulaire d'adhésion peut être téléchargé sur le site d'AFLICO à
l'adresse suivante :

Ce formulaire doit être rempli et renvoyé, par mél ou par courrier postal à
l'adresse spécifiée, accompagné d'un chèque ou d'un virement ou mandat de

OBJECTIFS :
Au cours des dernières années, l'intérêt pour la Linguistique Cognitive a
progressivement augmenté en France, donnant lieu à de nouvelles études et
des échanges stimulants. Après des colloques et journées d'études diverses
d'orientation cognitive, le temps est venu de créer une plateforme de
discussion plus globale.
Voilà l'objectif premier que se fixe l'Association Française de
Linguistique Cognitive (AFLICO) : établir un réseau de contacts et une
plateforme de discussion entre différents chercheurs travaillant dans, ou
intéressés par, la Linguistique Cognitive et prêts à participer au
développement des études dans ce domaine en France. Pour atteindre cet
objectif, AFLICO :
- publiera un bulletin annuel avec comité de lecture, CogniTextes (Editions
Nanterre, Chargé de l'édition W. Rotgé, Univ. Paris X Nanterre), regroupant
diverses publications d'orientation cognitive.
- organisera un colloque international bi-annuel. Le premier était le
colloque ''Du fait grammatical au fait cognitif'' (qui coïncide avec la
création de l'association), tenu à l'Université de Bordeaux 2, 19-21 mai
2005 (org. J.R. Lapaire) ; le deuxième (autour de la thématique de la
typologie et des langues de signes) se tiendra à l'Université de Lille 3,
printemps 2007 (org. M. Lemmens). Des colloques ou des journées d'études
plus modestes sont également prévus.
- créera un site Internet où des chercheurs pourront trouver des
renseignements concernant des événements à venir, des colloques, des
références bibliographiques, ou d'autres informations utiles.
- développera des partenariats et des actions communes avec les
associations sœurs de l'Espace Européen (Allemagne, Belgique, Espagne,
Pays-Bas, Pologne, etc.) : colloques, échanges et invitations de
chercheurs, financements de la Communauté Européenne pour des projets
concertés.
AFLICO est désormais officiellement associée à l'association internationale
de linguistique cognitive (ICLA).
