Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce the 1st International Conference on Corpus-Based
Approaches to ELT. This is intended as a forum of discussion for linguists and
researchers in the area of Corpus Linguistics.

Title'' Using general and specialised corpora in language teaching: Past,
present and future'' Department, University of Hanover, (Germany)

Dr. Sylvie De Cock
Title'' Spoken learner corpora and EFL teaching'' Centre for English Corpus
Linguistics. Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium).

The conference will focus on corpus-based material design and implementation,
and the main topics to be dealt with are the following:
1.- Multimodal corpora and multimodal corpus linguistics in language teaching
2.- Design and use of small corpora in ELT
3.- The use of corpora in EAP/ESP teaching
4.- Web as corpus in the language classroom
5.- Computer-aided pedagogical tools for corpus exploitation

We welcome abstracts (up to 500 words) on areas mentioned above for 30-minute
presentations (with at least 10 min. devoted to discussion).
Selected papers will be published.
