The 3rd Formal Semantics in Moscow workshop

The 3rd Formal Semantics in Moscow (FSIM) workshop will be held on April 28, 2007 at the Moscow State University. We invite abstracts for 20-minute presentations followed by 10-minute discussion on any topic in formal semantics and formal pragmatics. The main topic of this year's workshop is ''Anaphora and Beyond''. While submissions on anaphora are especially encouraged, submissions on any other topic are also welcome and will be given equal consideration.
The annual FSiM workshop was originally started as a place for young researchers from the field of formal semantics and pragmatics to present their work in a lively and friendly setting. Therefore papers by young researchers are especially welcome.

The deadline for submissions is January 25, 2007. Each author may be involved in at most two submissions and may be the sole author of at most one submission. Abstracts should be anonymous and should not exceed 2 pages. To submit an abstract, please send an e-mail to fsim3.submissionsgmail.com with your abstract attached as a .pdf (preferably) or Microsoft Word file. If you use Word, please save your file in the .rtf format. In the body of the message please specify your name, affiliation, and the title of the paper. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by late February.
There is no registration fee for the workshop. Crash space will be available upon request.
If you plan to attend FSIM, please be aware that obtaining a Russian visa may be a long, complicated and costly process. Guidelines for obtaining a tourist visa and some information about visa fees may be found at http://fsim3.narod.ru/visa.html. Probably, we will be able to issue the official university invitations for speakers, but the process will undoubtedly take a lot of time, so in such a case you will have to wait first for the invitation to be issued, and then wait for the moment when the embassy or consulate will process your request. (Unfortunately, at least some Russian consulates are known to be delaying processing of business visas, while at the same time working in a timely manner with tourist visas.)

The ''English in South-east Asia'' Conference series has been held annually since 1996. This is the 12th conference in the series to be held by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok Thailand.
