August 2008 oder später eine Professur für Englische Philologie (Nachfolge Prof. Andreas Fischer) zu besetzen. Erwartet werden Qualifikationen in diachroner englischer Linguistik (Alt- und Mittelenglisch), englischer Sprachgeschichte und englischer Literatur des Mittelalters. Schwerpunkte in den Bereichen Morphologie, Syntax und Semantik sind wünschenswert. Voraussetzung für die Bewerbung ist die Habilitation oder eine gleichwertige Leistung. Die Fakultät strebt eine Erhöhung des Anteils an Frauen in Lehre und Forschung an und fordert deshalb insbesondere qualifizierte Frauen zur Bewerbung auf. Applicants should have a demonstrated competence in diachronic English linguistics (Old and Middle English), the history of the English language and Medieval English literature; specialization in the areas of morphology, syntax and semantics is of advantage. Substantial publications beyond the doctoral thesis and a functionally adequate command of German are prerequisites. The University of Zurich wishes to increase the number of women in teaching and research. Therefore, applications from women are particularly welcome.
