ICCLING, the joint conference of the Mouton journal 'Intercultural Pragmatics, the Linguistic society of Southern Africa, and the Southern African Applied Linguistics Association, will be held at Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch, South Africa on January 14-23, 2008. The meeting will focus on intercultural communication, pragmatics, linguistics and applied linguistics.
First Announcement and Call for Papers The Mouton journal ''Intercultural Pragmatics'', the Linguistics Society of Southern Africa, and the Southern African Applied Linguistics Association invite you to Intercultural Communication and Linguistics (ICCLING) incorporating 3rd International Symposium on Intercultural Communication and Pragmatics 14-16 January 2008 Annual joint conference of the Linguistics Society of Southern Africa and the Southern African Applied Linguistics Association 17-19 January 2008 Graduate workshop on Linguistics and Culture 21-23 January 2008 hosted by the Department of General Linguistics, and the Department of Curriculum Studies Stellenbosch University, in Stellenbosch, South Africa Keynote speaker: Steven Pinker Harvard University Abstracts are invited for papers, posters and colloquia on any topic relevant to the fields of intercultural communication, pragmatics, linguistics and applied linguistics. Please send a one-page (max. 300 words) abstract and a separate page with name, address, email and affiliation as an email attachment to the email address given below, or make use of the online-submission facility that will be available by the end of January 2007. Please specify clearly the particular event for which you wish your abstract to be considered: symposium (14-16 January), or conference (17-19 January).
