University or Organization: Cornell University Department: Linguistics Web Address: http://ling.cornell.edu Specialty Areas: Phonetics; Sociolinguistics Description: The Department of Linguistics at Cornell University invites applications for a one semester full-time visiting position to teach an undergraduate introduction to phonetics and to co-teach an introduction to sociolinguistics this fall 2007 (note that fall semester classes begin on August 23). Applications for a half-time position to teach one or the other course will also be considered. The employment dates are from August 16 to December 31, 2007, at a salary of $20-24,000 (depending on experience) for the full-time position (prorated accordingly for a half-time position), plus benefits. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their PhD. A letter of application, curriculum vitae, one publication, and three letters of recommendation should be sent by hard copy to the address listed below.
