Description:
McNeil Technologies, Inc. has immediate openings for Spanish and Vietnamese
Linguists in Boston, MA and New Haven, CT (Spanish only).
- Position requires monitoring communications intercepts, translating,
transcribing, and interpreting. Linguist shall be responsible for
monitoring a number of communication intercepts during any given shift.
- Provide reliable and accurate translations, transcriptions and summaries
of source materials into English. Linguist will perform multifunctional
duties. These duties may include but may not be limited to transcribing source
documents and perform quality control on such documents and assisting other
Linguists.
- Perform administrative duties related to the task. Such duties may
include but may not be limited to, placing log sheets, line sheets, duplicating
tapes and/or summaries into binders
Qualifications:
- Experience in translating, interpreting or other work requiring the use
of English and Spanish or Vietnamese Language
- An excellent command of the English language with the ability to provide
clear and concise oral and written communication
- Ability to comprehend Spanish or Vietnamese with native ability and to
follow accurately the basic elements of conversations and telephone calls
- Able to read and comprehend Spanish or Vietnamese with native ability,
and read and understand various text types
- Ability to comprehend slang and colloquial expressions in the Spanish or
Vietnamese language and translate into English
- Basic typing/word processing skills
- Must be able to pass a Government background investigation and language test
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or a legal resident of the United States (minimum
5 years)
