Description:
The School of Education, Communication & Language Sciences wishes to appoint a three-year fixed phonetics teaching fellow to teach two whole-year courses in introductory and advanced articulatory and instrumental phonetics. You will design lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions for each of the modules. You will supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research in these areas. You will take part in clinical and non-clinical assessments of students on these programmes, and where appropriate contribute to administration within the School. You should ideally possess (or have nearly completed) a PhD in Linguistics, Speech & Language Therapy, Speech Science or a related discipline and have an interest in research. You will have good time management and organisational skills, good English language and IT skills, excellent communication skills and a strong background in articulatory and acoustic phonetics. You will also be a good team player. The post is offered as a part-time (0.4) appointment and fixed term for 3 years.
