The Linguistics and Translation Faculty of Chelyabinsk State University is glad to host the 4th International Scientific Conference: Word, Utterance and Text: Cognitive, Pragmatic and Cultural Aspects. The conference will be held on April 25-26, 2008. The conference will focus on the following theoretical and practical issues: 1. Cognitive science: a new paradigm of 21st century 2. Linguistic world-image and cultural interaction 3. Discourse as the object of interdisciplinary research 4. Semantics and pragmatics of the text and of language units 5. Topical issues in translation and interpreting Specialists in different fields of knowledge are invited to take part in the conference.
