Description:
The Department of Business Communication and Information Science invites applicants for the position of Professor in Chinese. The successful applicant will play a leading role in the development of the newly founded programme in international business and modern languages (Chinese) situated at the Sønderborg Campus. The appointment is from the 1st August 2008. The successful applicant will be fluent in Chinese, both spoken and written, and be well-versed in the linguistic, sociological, political, and preferably business conditions within China as well as within its sphere of influence. Documented experience in teaching Chinese is required as is a strong profile in Chinese political and social concerns. The successful applicant will have specific research qualifications within modern Chinese language and society. Additionally, supervisory experience at the Masters and PhD level within Chinese studies as well as experience with the dissemination of research methods and results are required. Applications will be assessed by an expert committee. Applicants will be informed of their assessment by the university. As part of the overall assessment of the applicant's qualifications, an interview may be applied.
