Full Time Spanish Lecturer Position at Rice University

Rice University seeks to hire a specialist in content-based Spanish
language instruction to teach language courses and to develop solid courses
in the following areas: Medical Spanish and Arts/Mechanics of Translation.
Candidates should be familiar with ACTFL national standards and be versed
in proficiency-oriented teaching. Strong pluses: experience in multi-media
applications and technology-enhanced instruction, Spanish for heritage
learners, and OPI certification. Applicants should have at least
near-native fluency and MA degree or equivalent. For appointment to rank
of Lecturer, beginning on 1 July 2008. Salary will be commensurate with
credentials and experience. Rice offers good institutional support for
professional development and state-of-the-art technological facilities are
available.
