Description:

One tenure-track position teaching courses in linguistics and English
language studies; appointment begins August 18, 2008.

Required qualifications:
Doctorate in linguistics, English, or related field with dissertation focus
on a linguistics topic. ABD candidates must complete all requirements for
doctoral degree by January 1, 2009.

Strong assets:
Solid foundation in multiple areas of linguistics; commitment to
undergraduate education; demonstrated ability to teach composition and
other courses at the college level; evidence of strong scholarship or
scholarly potential.

To ensure consideration, submit application letter, vita, and graduate
transcripts postmarked by 2 November 2007 to Jack Bushnell. Preliminary
screening interviews will be conducted by telephone or in person at the
Linguistic Society of America or the MLA conventions. We reserve the right
to contact additional references. Under Wisconsin law, applicants' names

writing.
