Description:
The School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University, located in Washington DC, invites applications for Portuguese Language Program Coordinator for 2008-2010. This is a full-time two-year appointment with possibility of renewal. Duties include teaching Portuguese language courses, syllabus design, and supervision of Portuguese language instructors. The ideal candidate will have: (a) a master's degree in Portuguese, Applied Linguistics, or Education (ABD or PhD preferred), (b) strong teaching experience in Portuguese, (c) interest in content-based instruction (topics in International Politics & Economics), (d) experience in curriculum and language teaching materials development, (e) knowledge of current language teaching methodology, (f) expertise in the use of technology-mediated instruction, (g) native language proficiency in Portuguese.
