As a joint conference, the International Symposium on Phonetic Frontiers (ISPF 2008) will be held simultaneously with a special theme of celebrating the hundredth birthday of Professor WU Zongji. The goals of the conference and the symposium are to provide a platform for the discussion on topics concerning the current interest in phonetics. PCC2008/ISPF2008 will be hosted by the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. PCC2008/ISPF2008 will be hosted by the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The working language for PCC2008 is Chinese/English and the working language for ISPF2008 is English. All the accepted papers will be collected in the conference proceedings CD; selected papers will be contained in ''The Chinese Phonetics Journal (vol. 2)'' or ''The Festschrift for Professor Wu's hundredth birthday'' published by the Commercial Press. In addition, the conference will award a prize for the Best Student Papers. The maximum length of a submitted paper is six pages of A4-size.
